ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY TO NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
SAM TRAVEL PERU believes and is committed in using ECO-TOURISM as a tool to encourage the protection of the natural environment. We endeavor to encourage a love and respect of nature through enhanced understanding and awareness, both in our staff and clients. With local communities we create frameworks where the ECO-TOURISM business promotes truly sustainable use of pristine natural environments and nature. These benefits are shared equally and fairly with communities, with no loss to the natural environment.

In December 9th of 2016, SAM Travel Peru fulfilled the dreams of 22 students, by taking these students to Machu Picchu. These students have just finished their high school studies from the very remote Andean Community of Patachancha, an hour uphill outside of Ollantaytamba in the mountains: providing them round trip transportation from their communities to Machupicchu, train and bus round trip, full meals, and guide service in their own language (Quechua the Incas language) with the purpose they can know and restore pride in their culture, history and heritage through experiencing it up close and in person. This kind of educational experience is important to the students and it is a great time for them to enjoy a time together. Please enjoy the experience with them in this video, clicking on the video! We are hoping to restore to the people of the indigenous communities, a pride and an understanding of the importance of their history, heritage, and ancient culture. This is being lost to the people. The people of these communities have been marginalized in some cases by society and may lack basic necessities in their communities…

SAM Travel Peru knows that their most important and valuable resource is their office staff, guides, chefs and porters. In a travel service company they are the persons who provide the travel service for all the tourists that arrive each year to Cusco. Their passion, professionalism and care for the tourist makes the difference between an average experience on a tour or trek and an incredible, unforgettable experience, from the point of booking a tour or trek to experiencing the it. At SAM travel employees know they are valued, respected, and a critical part of the company. They also have something to believe in because SAM travel not only provides superior service on treks and tours, they give back in many ways to the communities in which they are trekking and they protect the environment to make sure that tourism is sustainable. Events such as our Christmas party at a Rodizio Restaurant in December 2016, each employee is acknowledged and appreciated for their hard work throughout the year. Through this event they feel valued and sense a purpose in what they are doing. They are not just doing a job but providing unforgettable memories for tourists, sharing with tourists a respect for their country and the culture of the Incas, and giving back to their communities through various projects. This is one way that SAM travel Peru makes sure their employees know they are important, respected and valued by the company and its owner Saul Alvarez.

SAM Travel Peru was able to do another Christmas Party in December 2016 for the Andean Communities of Huacawasi and Kiswaran. As a part of our family we want the families of the communities and especially the children to experience the spirit of Christmas. We had a Santa Claus and some clowns, and we shared with the children the meaning of Christmas, with lots of gifts for everyone. We had lots of fun and food, hot chocolate and cookies etc. We played games like tug of war, soccer, and other types of games. The winners of each game received a prize. Every year near Christmas time, SAM Travel Peru organizes a trip to a village to share hot chocolate, special bread and to give out gifts like clothes, books, school items, toys, with less privileged children. These children live in poor conditions and most have material needs. They often do not have many toys, clothes or other material possessions. We are committed to helping the people in the areas where we work, and sharing with them as a part of our family. We hope you can come and participate or give a donation for next year if you like. We always welcome donations. You will be able to continuue to help local children and make their Christmas better.
