Rainbow Mountain Trek 2 Days

DAY 1: CUSCO-QESUNO-ANATA On the first day of your Rainbow mountain adventure, we will pick you up at your hotel at 4:00am and drive 3 hours to the trailhead. While packing up our gear our chef will be preparing a hot breakfast to get you fueled up for the hike ahead of you. Our guides will go over the itinerary for the day and safety tips to ensure you are fully prepared for the next two days. The trek begins in a large green valley. There, you will see hundreds of alpacas, local farmers, and the beautiful Ausangate Mountain looming in the distance. This is only a teaser for what is to come on your journey. As you continue making your way on the trail, you will conquer the first pass of the trek, the Pucacocha pass. At around (4876mt, 16,000 ft), the pass sits just above Pucacocha Lake, and the massive Ausangate Mountain is directly in front of you.  After a successful climb, we will stop around noon to eat lunch and recharge our bodies for the remainder of the hike. Our destination for the night is Anata, where we will enjoy a beautiful evening surrounded by jaw dropping landscape at the base of the Andes Mountains. Ancascocha Trek to Machu Picchu – via Salkantay 5 Days

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Salkantaypampa- Pampa Japonesa At 5am, we pick you up at your hotel and drive in our private van for 3.5hours to Soraypampa. Along the way, you can enjoy some spectacular views of villages, Iscuchaca, Limatambo, stunning valleys and the spectacular Salkantay snow-capped mountain. At the trail head (Soraypampa), we power up with our breakfast while obsorbing the exhilarating views of Humantay (5,900m/19,356ft) and Salkantay (6,217m/20,396ft) mountain glaciers. Puting on our comfortable shoes we take a 2.5 hour return hike up to see the turquoise Humantay Lake. We continue with a gentle ascension for 1.5 hours to Salkantay Pampa, where our chefs will have our delicious lunch waiting in front of the beautiful glacier. Slipping in through the back door with one hour uphill by switchback we arrive at our first campsite at Soroccocha located at the foot of the great Salkantay Mountain. Then, you’ll replenish your body with a coffee or hot chocolate. Day 1: Cusco – Tauca – Huchuy Qosqo – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes At 6am, we will start driving from your hotel to the small Village of Tauca (3,750m/12,303ft), the beginning of your trek. We will be on level terrain and the landscape will be that of typical Andean Valleys, rich in corn, potatoes, barley, quinoa and other Andean tubers. As you ascend towards the pass at (4,050m/13,287ft), the landscape begins to change dramatically to the classic of High Andean Savannah or Puna, with scant vegetation, mainly “ichu” or high altitude grass. The views of the Cordillera Vilcabamba peaks are spectacular; Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and San Juan snow peaks. Soon after the pass, you will start your descent toward the Huchuy Qosqo plains hiking along a path that leads to the Cauca Ravine, where you will be able to see archeological remains and wild crops, such as tarwi, and a large quantity of cactus. You will walk downhill towards the Leon Punku ravine, where you will find remains of an Inca bridge and trail. This canyon boasts geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Qosqo at (3,650m/11,975ft).  Huchuy Qosqo (Little Cuzco) is a noteworthy Inca complex. It boasts very fine stonework in a large Kallanka (rectangular Hall), some residential and defensive quarters and interesting two-story buildings in stone and adobe.
